Setting up your Webstore
Modified By SuperUser Account on 11/11/2008 7:43:12 PM)

Follow these Simple steps to set up your Webstore.

  1. Make sure your PayPal Account is setup and ready to go. If you haven't yet signed up for PayPal click HERE.
  2. Go into [Admin][Site Settings]
  3. Under [Advanced Settings] make sure your User registration is [Public] or [Verified] so Users can get into your site.
  4. Under [Payment Settings] Select US Dollars as your Currency, PayPal as your Payment Processor, Fill in your Verified PayPal Email Address in Processor User ID and your PayPal password in Processor Password.
    1. You might also want to create and upload a logo for the top area on your webstore. Max size is 120x800 pixels.
  5. Hit [Update] at the bottom of the page when you are done.
  6. Click [Home] and Click the [Edit] switch at the top of the page
  7. Click [Store Setup] in the Home menu. You will need to fill in a few items in here to get it going.
    1. Store Name, Description, Keywords and Email Address are very important. This email address doesn't have to be your Paypal Address.
    2. In Currency Symbol put a '$'
    3. Set Store Page to [Home] and Shopping Cart Page to [Account]
    4. Under gateway, select PayPalProvider (New fields will appear)
    5. Under PayPal ID put your Verified PayPal Email Address.
    6. Click [update]
    7. To Fill in Tax Administration and Shipping click the little [+] in front of each.
    8. Refer to your local laws regarding taxation for your items and charge appropriately.
    9. Under Shipping fill in enough fields that you can cover the weight factor for all your items. You need at least ONE entry even if it covers 0.00 to 0.01 for weightless items (or items that will not be shipped) like downloaded software.
    10. Click update after every change
  8. Add A New Category to your Store Menu (Be descriptive of some type of things you are selling, Albums, Old VHS Tapes, Teddy Bears, Silver Spoons)... and put in a full description of your selection.
  9. Add a New Item and upload a photograph. Describe your item. This is what sells things... Pictures and good descriptions.
  10. Add more Categories if needed, and Repeat Step 8 and 9 until all your items are listed.
  11. Advertise your store. Put the address in your web-signatures, under your Graphic Posts, At the bottom of all your emails... and sign up for Google Adwords.
  12. Be Patient... Selling is like fishing.

Tips to stay in Business.

  1. Always be honest in your descriptions of Items for sale.
  2. Always follow through.
  3. Always Ship Promptly (and Accurately)
  4. Always have plenty of funky old stuff that people want to buy
